After School

IC3’s After School Program is an ideal transition time from school to home. We offer a small, hands on After School Program for children in Kindergarten through Fifth Grade. We enroll 40 – 50 children in the program and have a Director and 3-4 Counselors. Our After School Program is focused on allowing the children enrolled to relax and unwind after a structured day of school. A combination of hands on activities, board games, crafts, physical games and quiet time are all offered at the program as well as a homework club.

After School ProgramThe afternoon is structured so that your child is free to choose among a planned activity or physical game, free choice of toys and activities available at the program, and/or creating their own fun through fort building, putting on a play and/or engaging with friends in personal areas of interest. Counselors create clubs for the children to participate in. Student feedback and suggestions are considered for the creation of these clubs and the skills and abilities of the Counselors are matched for maximum enjoyment. Examples of clubs offered are drama, sewing, culinary, science exploration, beading, and scrap booking. Clubs will vary based on the season and the interests of the children.

Children from a majority of the Ithaca City School District elementary schools and Lansing School can attend IC3’s after school program. Our regular hours are Monday – Friday, 2:30-5:30 pm. We allow a 15-minute grace period for parents who aren’t able to make it to the program by 5:30 pm but request that all children are picked up by 5:45 pm. We also provide full day care on most days when schools are closed. Full days at IC3’s after school program are packed with adventure! Field trips, new and exciting activities, guest speakers and artists are incorporated into the day so that all of the children are actively engaged in having fun!
